+ Volunteer and Community Service Program - $30,000

Volunteers play a vital role in the mission of Metro Caring. They help support us as we ensure our community has access to healthy and nutritious food. Volunteers are active in all areas of Metro Caring’s delivery of programs and services and work in a variety of roles, such as market assistants, warehouse volunteers, nutrition collaborators, community connectors, garden leaders, and welcome desk attendants.

+ Sustainability Partner - Composting - $25,000

Metro Caring sees thousands of pounds food come through our doors each day. We ensure that every single food item is hand sorted and inspected by volunteers to meet the highest safety and quality standards. Often our sorters use the guidelines, “If I wouldn’t buy it at a grocery store, I’m not sending this out into our community.” Our staff and volunteers are very intentional in making sure that the food items that don’t meet our safety and quality standards are composted instead of diverted into the landfill. By the end of a typical shift, we’ve filled eight, 55-gallon compost bins to the brim. That’s roughly 800 – 1,000 pounds of compost every single day! You can become our composting sponsor for one year and help reduce the impact of food waste, add nutrients to the soil, and reduce methane emissions that negatively impact the environment. Inclusions:

  • Logo recognition for one year on our website with 84,000 unique visitors and 72,000 main page views
  • One table for ten (10) guests at Cornucopia, our Fall fundraiser
  • Publication in our annual report
  • Social media shout outs
  • Sponsor logo listed in one Caring Chronicle, Metro Caring's monthly newsletter (circulation of over 7,500 subscribers)

+ Healthy & Culturally Relevant Food - $25,000

On average, we are providing nutritious groceries to 1,500 families every week. What’s hit our budget the hardest is the extraordinary amount of money Metro Caring is spending on food. The amount we used to spend for food purchasing in one year, we are now spending in one month. Our goal is to always have staple items such as eggs, milk, and meat – and at the same time, we‘re striving to be responsive to the needs of a very diverse community. We are also putting a priority on stocking culturally relevant food such as long grain rice, beans, lentils, and masa flour to help ensure a consistent and inclusive experience for everyone who comes to us for food. Invest in one month of food purchases, including culturally relevant items, to support approx. 6,000 families. Inclusions:

  • Sponsor logo recognition for one year on our website with 84,000 unique visitors and 72,000 main page views
  • One table for ten (10) guests at Cornucopia, our Fall fundraiser
  • Sponsor logo listed in one Caring Chronicle, Metro Caring's monthly newsletter, (circulation of over 7,500 subscribers)
