I earned an associate’s degree in Culinary Arts from Metropolitan Community College in Omaha, Nebraska, and then a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from Kansas State University. My mom was a great gardener and she gave me a great understanding of what healthy food looks like. I believe that healthy, culturally appropriate food is a human right. Metro Caring is willing to ask tough questions and take action to change the systems that make it challenging for so many people in our community to access the food they need. My favorite fruit is the avocado. I like anything with avocado, even desserts. I also really enjoy singing in the Orpheus Pagan Chamber Choir.
